Thanks for making me a fighter...

As I was unloading the dishwasher this morning I had this thought:
"Are you the type of person who sharpens knives or buys new?"

I know. These are the types of thoughts I frequently have. It makes you wonder, doesn't it?
My dreams lately have been off the charts freaky. I've always had really colorful and wild dreams. I can awake and relay every detail about my dreams: colors, smells, what song was playing, etc. It's a very animated event, my dreams. A few nights ago I woke up in the middle of making little smooching sounds. Why, you ask? Because I was dreaming about an adorable baby elephant and I was kissing him! And just before that, I had awakened myself by choking on a giggle because a fat mermaid was walking out of the ocean. No, really.
Last night I dreamt I was in a court room and someone was all in a tizzy. What other option did I have, to restore order in the court, but to smack this woman in the head? The only problem is that I woke up to find m…

Just like dear old Mom...

A couple of weeks ago, while we were holiday-ing with my in-laws, I was slathering on some hand lotion (the downfall of using hand sanitizer every time you turn around is the subsequent drying of your flesh) and I thought, "Mom always has had the softest hands." Which then led me to think, "I'm going to be a Mom! I need the softest hands, too!"
I know... there's like no resemblance whatsoever...!
The truth that our little boy is going to be here in just the matter of a couple months has me pondering all these motherly things, which of course I have naturally drawn from my own mother. For instance, today I ordered a copy of the 1978 copy of a collection of Walt Disney classics. Why?! Umm, because Mom has a copy. And I'm going to be a Mom, so I need that big, red, Disney book, too!
Mom always wore her mother's wide, yellow gold wedding band on her right hand. I've wanted that ring forever, or at the very least, to wear my own mother's weddin…
I'm feeling very pregnant these days. Yesterday I could barely get out of the car after running a few minor errands. No, seriously... I thought I was stuck. I managed to haul myself out eventually, but I was fairly certain I was going to need my husband's help in pulling me out of my Chevy Malibu.
As cumbersome as I may be feeling, I am so excited that we're getting closer and closer to meeting our little guy! My older sister has graciously loaned us her stroller/car-seat combo and today when I slipped the car-seat into the back seat of my car, I will admit that my heart did a little flip as if to say, "Oh, wow, we're going to put our baby in there!" It makes me downright giddy!
Also, giddy-inducing is the fact that two of my sweetest and dearest friends are expecting their first little bundles of joy, as well! There is apparently something in the water around these here parts. Watch yourself!
